Staging Your Home

So you’ve decided to list your home for sale, you’ve found the perfect REALTOR, and have signed the Listing Agreement. What’s next?

 

In today’s video I’m going to discuss the merits of having your home staged. One of the first things that I do is walk through the home with the Seller and a professional Stager. Staging is part of my service and it’s best to find out if your REALTOR provides that service prior to signing the Listing Agreement.

 

Room-by-room we’ll determine what needs to be packed and what will be used in staging. A home that is tastefully decorated with no clutter and less furniture looks bigger and is more desirable to potential Buyers. What we want to do is create an atmosphere that when a potential Buyer walks into the home, they can immediately visualize themselves living there.

 

And I must warn you, the process of selling your home is an emotional one. Asking you to remove a chair, a family heirloom, or a piece of artwork that is special to you is in no way a slight on you, your home, or your decorating skills. Please don’t take it personally!

 

Do know that through this entire process it’s just not going to feel like your home. All I can say is “hang in there”, trust your REALTOR, and keep your eye on the prize. The prize being to sell your home quickly and be ready to move onto your next adventure.
